The SFE union supports the call from EUstaff4Climate, for staff to demonstrate on Friday 20 September at 13.00, to draw governments’ attention to the need to combat climate change. Il y a quelques jours, vous avez peut-être entendu parler de la pétition lancée par EUStaff4Climate, une initiative ascendante menée à titre personnel / privé par le personnel de l'UE et émanant de toutes les institutions européennes, profondément préoccupées par la crise climatique, écologique et sociale à laquelle fait face notre planète. En moins d'une semaine, la pétition compte déjà plus de 5 500 signatures. Lancée en mars de cette année en solidarité avec le mouvement mondial Youth for Climate, EUstaff4climate s'est réunie en tant que citoyens, parents, grands-parents et employés concernés, dont le devoir est d'agir dans l'intérêt public. Plus de 60 collègues différents ont contribué par le biais d’ateliers participatifs à la définition de la vision et des priorités de EUstaff4climate. À l'instar de plusieurs membres de la Commission européenne, le syndicat SFE soutient pleinement cette initiative. Nous vous invitons également à appeler les dirigeants européens à relever le défi sans précédent de prendre les mesures nécessaires pour prévenir les désastres climatiques et écologiques imminents. A few days ago, you may have heard about the petition launched by EUStaff4Climate, a bottom-up initiative led by EU staff in their individual/private capacity from across the EU institutions who are deeply concerned about the climate, ecological and social crisis facing our planet. In less than a week, the petition has already over 5,500 signatures. Launched in March of this year in solidarity with the global Youth for Climate movement, EUstaff4climate has come together as concerned citizens, parents, grandparents and as employees, whose duty is to act in the public interest. Over 60 different colleagues have contributed by way of participatory workshops to shaping EUstaff4climate’s vision and priorities. Like several members of the European Commission, the SFE trade union, fully endorses the initiative and we invite you to join in calling on EU leaders to step up to the unprecedented challenge of taking the necessary steps to prevent the impending climate and ecological disaster.
